Location & Useful Info
Stay in the heart of Rethymno Old Town. Mythos Suites Hotel welcomes you to a lovingly restored 16th-century residence at Arkadiou 122 & Karaoli 12, where the character of Venetian Crete meets the rhythm of a living town. Step outside and follow narrow lanes past historic façades, small squares, boutiques and cafés. The Old Town’s Venetian and later Ottoman influences are part of everyday life here, and much of Rethymno is best discovered on foot.
Old Town, harbour & the sea
From the hotel, wander towards the Venetian Harbour for a waterside stroll, continue to the promenade and the sandy Rethymno town beach, or explore the lanes leading to the Fortezza. Historic landmarks, galleries and museums offer an easy introduction to the city’s past. The beach and waterfront are within walking distance, with longer stretches of coast extending east from the centre.
Everything close at hand
The surrounding streets are filled with independent shops, bakeries, mini markets, supermarkets, restaurants, Cretan tavernas, cafés and places for an evening drink. Browse the local shopping guide, pick up day-to-day essentials or ask the team for a personal recommendation. Pharmacies and the General Hospital of Rethymno are within easy reach. Gyms and sports facilities, including football pitches, can also be found in the wider town area.
Arriving and exploring Crete
Public and private parking areas are available around the centre and the edge of the historic district, including the central parking area. Parking availability and charges can change, and vehicle access in parts of the Old Town is restricted; check your route before driving to the hotel. Rethymno’s central KTEL bus station connects the city with Chania, Heraklion and other destinations across Crete. The town’s harbour and seafront are also nearby. If you need help planning a transfer or an excursion, please contact the hotel before your arrival.
